About

Elvaston Steam Rally is a long-established annual steam and vintage event held at Elvaston Castle Country Park in Derbyshire. First staged in 1976, the rally has grown into a popular gathering for enthusiasts and the wider public, celebrating Britain’s rich industrial and agricultural heritage through displays of working steam engines, vintage machinery, classic vehicles and traditional fairground attractions.

Organised by a volunteer committee, the event brings together a wide range of exhibits including traction engines, stationary engines, tractors, classic cars, commercial and military vehicles, alongside craft stalls, trade stands and live entertainment. The rally is recognised as an authorised event within the National Traction Engine Trust calendar, reflecting its status within the UK heritage rally scene.

As well as preserving and showcasing historic machinery, Elvaston Steam Rally is committed to supporting the local community. Each year, proceeds from the event are distributed to local charities and organisations, ensuring that the rally continues to make a positive contribution beyond the preservation of heritage.
