Welcome to 2025 and a New Year with the South Lancashire Centre. The life blood of any Centre is its members from whom come the committee, working freely to provide a varied programme along with the rally officers. As Chairman my thanks go to them and you for supporting them. The Centre has purchased a new sound system, this along with the decision to support rallies when necessary, in the use of halls that have in some cases been unviable due to cost, rising energy prices and the implementation of legislation. This hopefully will attract new members.
2025 also sees the change from being part of the Northern Region to that of the Northern Division of the Caravan and Motorhome Club, allowing us to have more of a connection with all the members within our area. For the first time since the start of the regional committees our own Past Chairman Roger Higson has been elected Deputy Chair of the new Division, congratulations Roger.
Like all Centres we can only function with the support of our registered members so please take time to look at the programme of planned events and support them if you can, we need new Rally Officers and new venues, if you think you can help by suggesting a venue, arriving early to help set up and see the outfits safely on site, as an assistant to the rally officer, give me a call or any members of the committee, no offers will be turned down. Remember the Club started by a group of people joining together to pursue a common interest, if you think about it that’s what we still do in centres now over 130 years later and long may it continue.
2026 will see the Centre celebrate 60 years as part of the Caravan and Motorhome Club something to look forward to.
Most of all enjoy 2025 Suzanne and myself look forward to catching up with you sometime somewhere.
