A special interest section of the Camping and Caravanning Club …. No-fuss social camping by cycle, foot or any type of powered transport.
We are open to cycle campers, backpackers, motorcyclists, car campers – anyone who likes the freedom of setting off with a small tent and enough kit to be comfortable.
We have Meets all year, we don’t mind the weather, we just need to take different gear!
We set our summer Meets programme early in the new year and winter meets are planned by autumn.
To become an ALC member just follow these steps:
Become a member of The Camping and Caravanning Club (if not already).
Call to the Membership team on 024 7647 5442 and tell them you want to join the Association of Lightweight Campers section of The Club.
The annual ALC fee of £6 will then be added to your Club subscription
That’s it! Your welcome letter will soon arrive from us

Any member of the Camping and Caravanning Club who enjoys backpacker-style camping is very welcome to come along to one of our Meets. If you then decide to join the ALC it will cost you just £6 per year.
If you are not a Camping and Caravanning Club member but would like to get an idea of what the Section can offer, you can book a pitch as a non-member for a weekend event to help you decide whether you would like to join.
