When exploring the Lauderdale Estate, you will discover some beautiful walking routes, offering incredible views of the surrounding area and glimpses of local wildlife. The low light pollution also allows for star gazing.
Visit the Castle and discover fascinating collections and stories about the castle’s interesting history, including connections to Bonnie Prince Charlie and Mary Queen of Scots. Marvel at some of the finest plasterwork ceilings in Europe and one of the most extensive family portrait collections in the country.
The castle is open for tours on Sunday at 10.30, 12.30 and 2.30. There is a 20% discount for members attending the rally. It will be closed on the Saturday for a wedding.

Thirlestane Caravan Park has a private walking route into Lauder – a market town where you will find a great selection of shops and a few bars, restaurants and cafes.

From the Edinburgh bypass, take the A68 to Jedburgh.
Drive the centre of Lauder and look out for 30mph signs as you leave the town. Directly after the signs, take the first left onto the B6362 following the brown tourist signs for the castle and Caravan Park entrance is on the left.
